Venny, Marie Carden’s dog for the disabled proved a great draw at Rushden Village Hall on Thursday 15th July when a full room turned out to hear Marie talk of her journey from the prison her body had made for her to the freedom that Venny, her flower and cheese loving guide dog had given her. No one could fail to be moved by her story. On Wed 21st July we will be entertaining the Stevenage WEA at Wallington on their authors of Hertfordshire visit.
In spite of the fact that we are supposedly enjoying summer holidays, it’s time to think of Christmas. If anyone knows of a good venue for our Christmas dinner, please let us know.Next meeting is at Wallington Village Hall on Thursday 16th September at 8pm when Alan Payne will talk on the Home Front- 1940s.
